  As the Assistant Director of the Publications Department at The War Amps, I had the opportunity to write several inspiring articles – a few of which are included here. From the war veterans to the child amputees (part of the Child Amputee Program -- CHAMP) to all of my colleagues, it was a remarkably motivating place to work.

• The Oakville Beaver

  One of my first jobs as a fresh, new journalist was at my hometown newspaper, The Oakville Beaver. It was an amazing introduction into the publishing world, as I had the chance to research, interview, write, edit, and take pictures. I was even responsible for my own page layout for articles, seasonal advertising sections, and special supplemental publications. I got to meet and interview some amazing people, sample food at lavish new restaurants, and cover exciting special events throughout town.   • Hall of fame: Ontario PGA club pro winner continues to knock down the barriers This is one of the first articles I had published over 10 years ago, and it’s still one of my favourites. This short piece from SCORE magazine was very meaningful to me. Interviewing a woman so intent on breaking down barriers in a male-dominated sport, I found my piece on Mary Jane Hall to be an inspirational start to my own career.
